Forecast
A cold front will be moving through the area as we head into our Friday evening. We will likely remain dry across the region this evening, but it stays warm and muggy. By Saturday morning, temps will be in the mid 60s and we could have a few neighborhoods north of Omaha dip into the upper 50s!
While we start Saturday with sunshine, there is a rain system still expected to move in from northern Nebraska around midday. This could bring some spotty rain across eastern Nebraska for the afternoon, but the trends are now lower for this rain chance. We'll keep a small rain chance for this just in case. Otherwise, it's a partly cloudy afternoon with highs in the mid 80s.
We'll also keep the chance for Saturday evening rain on the low side for now, but heading into Saturday night after 10 PM, another round of storms are expected to develop, across the Missouri river and into west Iowa. This Saturday night rain could be heavy at times, and there may be some stronger wind gusts overnight, too. The rain will begin to clear up as we start Sunday morning.
It gets a lot warmer out on Sunday and Monday with highs in the low 90s, and the humidity makes a return as well. Some of those heat indices could spike back up to 100, and there may be a few more spotty storms round, too.
Cooler air will start to move back into the region around the middle of next week with temps closer to the mid 80s by Wednesday. There are already some modest chances at rain from Tuesday to next Friday as well.
