FREMONT, Neb. (KMTV) — At least 32 employees of WholeStone Farms have tested positive for the coronavirus since Friday, according to company-wide messages.
At the Fremont pork processing plant, 170 employees have tested positive. One died, employees were told last week. Of those who tested positive, 68 have recovered and returned to work.
The company said 285 previously quarantined employees have "returned safe and healthy back to work."
More than 1,300 people work at the plant, which was sold from Hormel Foods in 2018. Not all employees have been tested, but 136 have tested negative.
The company has not responded to requests for comment. This story will be updated if they do.
