After collecting almost a year's worth of salary on paid leave, the Bellevue Police Department has reinstated Chief Mark Elbert, according to a release.
Elbert was placed on leave last September after the Bellevue Police Union said they had no confidence in him as the department's leader.
The decision goes into effect on Sept. 12 and Elbert will return to work on Sept. 20.
