Fremont was hit hard by the blizzard-like conditions on Monday.
Visibility snarled traffic and there were some brief power outages causing many people to be off work and some businesses to close.
UPDATE: GET THE LATEST ON MONDAY'S STORM
For many in Fremont, they view this day as just living in the Midwest, "It's kind of a bad one but you know we've been through it before," said Fremont resident Bob Houser.
After the winds calmed down during the noon hour, many people came outside to shovel their driveways.
"My driveway is probably my worst thing I have to do deal with today," resident Susan Hajek said. "This is the second time today I've scooped."
Fremont Public Works said it had 12 plow trucks out and about and working until the snow stops and the high-winds calm down.
