In February, Douglas County Deputy Dave Wintle passed away after a brief illness, leaving behind his wife and four children. Today the Douglas County Board of Commissioners voted to turn over his K9 partner Chet to his family.
Chet was Wintle's partner for 13 years.
Wintle spent 29 years in the department, starting as a dispatcher.
