OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - An Omaha firefighter injured while bull riding last week is awake and recuperating.
Tom Bartek was bull riding at the Sarpy County Fair on August 4. A family spokesperson said the bull threw its head back, striking Bartek. He suffered a head injury.
On Friday, Bartek's wife posted on social media that doctors removed his breathing tube earlier in the day. She also shared he's conscious and able to communicate with family.
His family is calling his recovery at CHI Bergan Mercy 'miraculous news.'
