Creighton men's basketball took some time to get the lead, but once they did they never relinquished it to beat Boise State 94-82 in the first round of the Cayman Island Classic.
The Bluejays trailed for a healthy part of the first half until Ty-Shon Alexander scored three of his 18 points to make it 38-35 with 2:38 left to give Creighton its first lead. They never trailed after that.
Damien Jefferson scored a career high 16 points in the win.
Creighton will play at 6:30 p.m. CST on Tuesday against Georgia State in the semifinals of the tournament.
