FORECAST: Scattered severe storms are likely this afternoon across eastern Nebraska and western Iowa. Storms are developing west of Omaha at 12 pm and will intensify as they move across the area. The best chance for some severe storms in Omaha is between 2 and 5 pm. Large hail, gusty winds, and a couple of tornadoes are possible.

1:19 pm - Meteorologist Tim Schmidt gives an update on severe weather potential.

12:38 pm - Glenwood Community Schools will dismiss 90 minutes early due to the severe storm risk.

12:03 pm - A TORNADO WATCH is in effect for much of eastern Nebraska and western Iowa until 7 pm. This includes the Omaha and Lincoln metro areas.
