Last month, the City Council approved changing the name of 29th Street to Kyle Wayne LeFlore Street between Meredith and Fowler Avenues.
LeFlore graduated from Omaha Northwest and went on to be a sergeant in the Army, serving tours in Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan and South Korea.
In January, he was shot and killed outside an Omaha bar while home for the Holidays, he had recently returned from duty in South Korea. A street-naming ceremony will take place July 20.
